We are an independent charity, reliant on support from individuals, businesses and the public sector.
How are we different to national Mind?
As a Local Mind Association (LMA), we are affiliated to National Mind, but responsible for our own funding and local service delivery. Being affiliated to Mind allows us to exchange ideas and information with similar organisations throughout the country, and to participate in wider campaigns promoting mental health awareness.
As an LMA we run our organisation independently, in a way that meets the needs of the communities we serve. As part of the affiliation, we support the Mind values and maintain a relationship with the network where we may access training or opportunities for joint funding.
How are we regulated?
As a registered charity, our Board of Trustees volunteer their time to oversee and support the work of the charity. We believe that people who use our services should be empowered by having a say in how the charity is run and we aim to involve our service users as part of our decision making process.
We’re also a registered member of the Fundraising Regulator and adhere to the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice in all our fundraising activities.
